EPA IAQ Tools for Schools National Symposium - January 13-15, 2011 in Washington, DC - The IAQ Tools for Schools Program is a nationwide initiative to help school officials assess, resolve, and prevent IAQ problems, and to reduce exposure to asthma triggers in school facilities. While school officials, administrators, facilities and operations personnel, teachers, parents, and students traditionally attend, the Symposium is open to anyone with an interest in IAQ in schools. NPPR Lean and P2 Workgroup - Third Tuesday of every month at 12 noon PT, 1 p.m. MT, 2 p.m. CT, 3 p.m. ET. - The Lean and P2 Workgroup helps form links between lean processes and environmental protection. It partners with the Green Suppliers Network and the EPA Lean and Environment Initiative. Members come from nonprofits, businesses, universities, state governments, and EPA. The workgroup meets monthly to hear technical presentations and share strategic discussions. Announcements are made through a Google Group. To sign up, click the link above.
Montana Weatherization Training Center - The training center's goal is to train the professionals who are on the ground weatherizing homes every day. Working closely with Montana's Human Resource Development Councils and Tribal associates, they focus on safe, efficient, cutting-edge techniques to address the health, safety, and energy efficiency issues present in low-income housing. Environmental Justice Small Grants Program
The Environmental Justice Small Grants Program (EJSG), supports and empowers communities working on solutions to local environmental and public health issues. The Program assists recipients in building collaborative partnerships to help them understand and address environmental and public health issues in their communities. Successful collaborative partnerships involve not only well-designed strategic plans to build, maintain and sustain the partnerships, but also to work towards addressing the local environmental and public health issues.
